Step 1
Select where you would like to grow your mini herb and vegetable garden!When selecting area, don't forget to read any pre-printed information inserts. Certain herbs and vegetables grow best in either full or partial sun. They also may like partial shade as well! When selecting vegetable, keep in mind best harvest time. Follow guidelines in order to space plants properly. Roots need to be happy!
Measure an area 27"width x 27"length.(Specs subject to change in accordance to selected decorative border and amount of plants.)
You will have a perfect square.
Step 2
Once area is selected and marked off, its time to connect with the earth! Use your garden tools to help clear the area of grass and weeds.
When purchasing your favorite herbs and vegetables, keep in mind to look for at least 4"inch tall, healthy stalks with rich green leaves. This will be beneficial when transplanting and also for full growth potential!
Remember to keep in mind planting instructions prior to planting with recommended sun or shade, watering guidelines, planting depths, plant food, space placement and height.
You are ready to transplant your herbs and vegetables!
It would be beneficial to place plants in selected area bed. Pre-select and mark where you will be digging. This will give you a great visual in case you want to make any last minute changes to your planting design. This is a great time to start your planting diagram!
Measure your container. Dig a hole with the width & depth of each individual container in mind. Its best to dig an extra 1" inch in depth
and add garden soil mixture inn the bottom of your hole.
Step 3
Gently remove mini herb and vegetable plants selected from its original
container! There are a variety of biodegradable products such as biodegradable peat pots and are plant-ready!
Remove any wilted leaves. This will allow nutrients to properly flow to
healthy leaves for maximum growth potential.
Don't forget to gently loosen the roots. We want them to feel right at home. This will avoid less transplanting root shock and will help them acclimate better to their new environment!
Do not throw away any pre-printed information or any instruction tabs.
This will come in handy while you are watching your herbs grow. There will also be handy tips in accordance to which region you live.
Step 4
Once plants are gently transplanted, take garden soil mixture selected and add about 1" inch extra layer. This will be most beneficial if garden soil mixture selected releases plant food, improves soil condition and controls moisture. There are a variety of inexpensive great garden soil products!
When visiting your local home and garden store, have fun when selecting your decorative picket fence border!Keep in mind of any unwanted visitors such as squirrels or rabbits. Height selection is important! There are also a variety of snap-on decorative borders!
Buy 3-4 decorative borders. If planting near an existing fence, you will only need 3 pieces. You can find them as low as $2.47 each!

Step 5
You are now ready to water your herb and vegetable garden! Lightly water until soil appears moist and rich!
Keep track of herbs ready to snip and prepare with your favorite summer recipes! If planting multiple herbs and vegetables, keep a planting diagram chart. This will help you keep track as to which herbs are perennials or annuals and when vegetables will be best to harvest.
